USD Bank Account acceptable to US Social Security and managed from UK

I have read other related posts and they don't quite see my current issue:
I need to set up a bank account that I can manage on behalf of my Mother in USD. It must be able to receive regular payments from US Social Security. I am resident in the UK and a British citizen. I am her power of attorney and also now registered payee (Soc Sec status).
I am currently struggling because US banks want a proof of US address which I dont have.
I am not sure Wise will work as it is technically not a bank or credit union.
Any ideas gratefully received.

I believe Wise would work because although your main Wise account might be in the UK, they can give you a subsidiary account based at an address in the US. I've used an arrangement like this though not dealing with US Social Security

An international bank perhaps? Chase? JPMorgan? Maybe there's someone operating on the Channel Isles or Isle of Mann that will understand your situation better than a regular high street bank in the US or UK.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If so, if you could find some way to persuade them to accept your PoA that would be far simpler than finding a bank and then finding out whether or not US Social Security accept it.0 -

Do these payments have to be made into an account in her name?
Have you tried registering your LPoA with the bank? Varies by country but generally overseas accept UK docs with a certified copy of the LPA, signed off by a notary public with an apostille (a special sealed certificate) attached by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office0 -
All good comments and help.
My Mother lives in UK. She had a bank account but it was shut down (another saga).
I will add to this thread with whatever way I succeed.0 -
What exactly are the requirements being made by US Social Services regarding the receiving bank? Does it have to be located in mainland USA with a routing code, or can be elsewhere, Puerto Rico, Jersey, Singapore..?
