Can this be right? Annual Electric Usage 10,597kWh

Is that annual usage figure from your statements, and are there any estimated readings involved?
Get some actual readings as close to 12 months apart as you can, and the difference between them is your usage for that period.
If it is that high, take meter readings daily for a while and try switching breakers off on you consumer unit (aka fusebox) for a few hours or overnight and see how it affects your readings. The contents of a fridge/freezer will survive it being off for several hours, just don't forget to switch it back on!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Some research done suggests fitting a programmable thermostat (where you can set different temperatures throughout the day/week) can save up to 15%. In reality, for most people, the saving is likely to be around 5%, so still worth it. I think I saved around 10% when I installed my smart thermostat (part of a home automation system).jennifernil said: Investing in new CH controls is probably a good idea.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
