Do they have a branch in your vicinity? If using a Santander UK debit card - they'll charge for using any other bank issued card.Apart from Spain there are only 3 other EU countries which have a Santander ATM presence - according to their website advice - Germany, Poland and Portugal - and no indication how widespread these may be.None in the Republic of Ireland, so irrelevant as far as the OP is concerned.

European Central Bank (europa.eu) €1 = 0.84410 GBP
Mastercard Rate €1 = 0.85 GBP
Visa €1 = 0.847917 GBP

I have both - so it's a matter of personal preference.Chase do not offer joint accounts unlike Starling - so if you want to keep 'er indoors in the dark about your spending ....................Another aspect to be aware off - Chase only allow the app to be loaded on one mobile device at a time, Staring permit more, although I don't know how many that might extend to in total.1
