New house with Combi boiler - hot water is SO much higher than old house with system heating, why?

    I tend to agree re over focus on legionella.

    But I grew up in a house with cold water tank in loft and vented tank.  And still live in another today.  Probably the highest domestic risk model.

    An owner occupier might be able to turn it down.

    But thought tennants should now not be and that should arguably be built into the rental agreement according to HSE guidelines for landlords and at least N of border - their need to do or have done regular legionella risk assessments.

    If the tank has a lid, and there are no birds roosting in the loft, the risk is virtually zero. I too had a similar setup until last year. Never had a problem with waterborne pathogens (but a single case is not scientific proof).
