Hello, I've had to log a complaint with GdF after staying in a gite which was not fit for purpose. They have acknowledged my email, but does anyone know if there is any Ombudsman or equivalent if they do not respond further?

I think you are going to struggle here, GdF are an agent and they are probably going to lay the blame on the owner. The T&Cs you signed up for are only available in French unfortunately.

Did you complain to the owner / managing agent when you were there?

Sorry to hear you've had trouble with a host.We've used GdF many times over the last 30-odd years and on the very rare occasions we had a problem (normally a chat with the host will solve that), they've always been helpful (always over the phone). The biggest drawback is that everything is in French, if you can manage that they should be able to help you. There's a time limit, a few days only after entering the premises, within which you've to get in touch though.There's link to download the TCs on that page.
