Upgrade to Santander Edge error message

Options
I've been getting an error message when trying to upgrade my current account. The error message starts with "sorry, there seems to be a problem" and goes on to mention possible problems like internet connection, JavaScript, and cookies.

I've tried multiple devices and browsers and nothing works. Any ideas if how to fix it without calling them (not currently in a position where I'd want to do this)

Which account are you trying to upgrade from, and what is your reason for wanting to upgrade?

Student. I'm no longer a student and I really don't need the overdraft of the Graduate account. Getting the Edge account will actually bring in mire money for me based on their calculator. I asked them in a chat and it being a student account shouldn't make any difference to whether I can upgrade or not.

Have you tried opening an Edge account rather than trying to upgrade the existing account?

Can you upgrade the student account to an Everyday one?

Didn't allow that either unfortunately. May just have to go into branch or call them when I am eventually able to.

Wouldn't the direct debits be an issue when doing this? I'd have to update them which can take a while
