New engineered wood floor soaked with water overnight

We have engineered wood in the kitchen that was laid before the units were installed and had a serious leak under the sink unit that we only noticed when a bulge appeared in the floor near the sink. It had been leaking a while and the floor was soaked. The planks hidden under the unit went black with mould. We mended the leak and left the plinth off to allow it to dry out and the bulge eventually went away. The wood under the sink is still discoloured, but it’s hidden so not a problem. The rest of the floor appears fine with no long term issues.0

36sqm of new wood flooring potentially ruined by the builder....I'm paranoid about the chippies scratching the bit of wooden floor we have just fitted.
Why on earth did the builders install any flooring when the build wasn't water tight? I would asking the builder to take the hit, strip out and reinstall with new flooring once water tight.
