EZY8732 today 5 July Budapest to Gatwick

Just home after a long day of travelling. Flight was due to depart Budapest at 11.55am. Finally took off at 16.20pm. 

Hardly any information. Only what we could see on our phones.  Found out through another passenger that we could have a voucher. This was just over £2 each which wouldn’t even buy 2 coffees. 

Captain announced when we boarded that delay was due to a technical problem on our original plane and that they had to wait for another plane to come and collect us. 

Should we take this up with Easy Jet. Not a great end to 4 days in wonderful Budapest.

Worth asking for more information. Though there were delays throughout Europe today due to a shortage of ATC staff. Something which will remain the case throughout the busy summer period.

If there was a delay because of a technical issue then that's within the airline's control and thus subject to compensation.
