What UK Banks are Basel III Compliant?

Hi, 

I am wondering if you can help, I’m trying to find out which UK banks are Basel III compliant? 

There is very little information out there. Are any banks 100% compliant yet?

Which banks are working towards the regulation date?

How close are they to being 100% compliant

Which banks are less than 50% compliant. 

This is such an important stage in safer banking regulation, some banks may fail, does anyone have knowledge in this area?

Basle III is set to be fully implemented by July 2025. 

Then follows Basle IV.  Going to have a significant impact Globally. Will be a game changer and level the playing field. The GFC era still lives on.........

All banks will be working to be compliant with the updated version of Basel III by July 2025. You can assume that no UK bank will be fully compliant until July 2025 and that some might not be compliant until after that date.

They should all be compliant with the original requirements of Basel III, but as you say it is difficult to get any insight as to whether the PRA knows of any non-compliance. 

You also have to consider whether compliance with Basel III will actually make any difference to the risk that a UK bank will go under. Most retail consumers are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) so don't worry about prudential regulations.
