Another vote for a PO Box. I looked it up and they are £275 a year if you collect from the box and pay yearly.

There's been a long tradition of unusually-addressed mail reaching its destination.
If you ever go to Lock & Co in London they claim someone once sent a letter addressed only to "The Best Hat Shop In London, England" and it was delivered to them. They've been in business since 1662, though originally as a more general shop and only specialising in hats since 1747, a couple of decades before the USA became a country.

In this day and age the postcode will drive which postie bag the letter goes into and it really comes down to them if you receive your mail or not. Some will only send mail to address as per the official PAF file but plenty of companies buy altneraive address lookup solutions or allow free text entry.

So in principle you could do it and you may get some of your post if your very close to the stated postcode and they've appropriate transport. You'd probably be much better off getting a set address (eg PO Box or virtual address) where all mail will be delivered. Some you have to collect, some will scan and email letters.
  • Mail hardly gets delivered to a standard addresses these days, I wouldn't dream the Diva aka postman will actually make an effort to deliver it to a van. Why not get a virtual mailbox address? I used to do that when I was traveling, or deliver to friend's address.

There's been a long tradition of unusually-addressed mail reaching its destination.

Addresses such as "That American Author, Yorkshire" and one that just said "England" have both worked - but my favourite is this one:

Brilliant. My favourite was one mentioned in a book by said American author in Yorkshire -

    Wood
    John
    Hants

     - but yours has made a tie with my top spot.
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.

Or "John Lister, Norfolk" - Turns out, most of the cards got delivered - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-55603705

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I sent him a card using your address when I read about it in the news. God love him. And well done posties :)

Letting you type in anything you like, rather than forcing you to pick an address from the Postcode Address File.

Oh yea, seems obvious now! Thought it was some type of database or something due to the context of the sentence.

I was thinking using private couriers like evri, dpd or dhl they will probably be much more willing to do this as often they are desperate to get rid of parcels, to many people's chagrin with stories of them just being chucked over neighbors hedges and such.
