Hi,
Does anyone know the best time to buy house insurance?
Mine is due on 1st August, I've just received my renewal quote and have done MSE comparison search.
My renewal quote comes in cheaper at the moment

Generally it will be circa 21-24 days before the renewal date however the law on new customer discounting changed a few years ago and yet this website, and most others, haven't updated their charts since then. So either no one has changed their pricing methodology in the last few years or sites haven't bothered refreshing their analysis.
Buy last minute and its a distress purchase, not enough time to shop around so there is an argument it will be more expensive. Look too early and not everyone quotes that far out so no need for them to be so competitive.1 -
