Ford UK - Warranty Is A Joke!

I am at the end of the road with Ford UK.  I have a 2018 Ford Mustang which is suffering from well known and documented corrosion issues.

I have been fighting this with them for almost 2 years.  Despite advising them I have terminal cancer and need to avoid stress, they have tried every trick in the book, including lying about contact attempts, to try and avoid honouring the warranty.

The issues started when corrosion was found on one of my wheels.  I took it to one of there dealers who confirmed this.  Ford accepted this issue and advised the wheel would be replace.  This is a key point where liability was admitted and warranty would be accepted.

SInce then they tried to claim my services hadn't been done.  Fortunately I'm 'old school' and make sure my service book is stamped.

I was then told my paint/body inspections hadn't been done.  They had, again book stamped and dealer confirmed.

Car had to be inspected by a garage of there choice.  This backfired on them when corrosion was confirmed and they also reported other issues.

Since then I have been ignored and a phone call today I was told my case had been suspended and I would need to contact the UK CEO.  They wouldn't even give me email details.

All in all a disgusting way to treat a loyal customer.  Their warranty is worthless.

Has anyone found a way to have there issues resolved?

AFAIK Ford warranty if for three years, i.e. until 2021. When did you first report the problem?

Corrosion warranties are typically longer than 3 years.  6, 12 and in Mercedes case 30 years, but proving any corrosion isn't as a result of external impact is always very difficult.

    What corrosion warranty was offered?

IIRC, Ford didn't bother with any anti-corrosion treatment on the Mustang, and when they came off the boat they had to be undersealed (or not), so I'm amazed they offered any corrosion warranty.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

This is about cosmetic corrosion on an alloy wheel rim, not about perforating corrosion on the bodywork?

If so, that's going to be under the paintwork warranty, which is three years.

Even the bodywork perforation warranty doesn't cover corrosion caused by scratches and surface damage, which is what most often affects rims.

I'd have thought a £100 per wheel refurb would resolve this.

Not ideal for you to be out the money, but conversely not worth the stress.

So you have a corroded alloy or by "wheel" do you mean wheel arch or similar?

You say it's a 2018 car but dont say when you bought it? Is this the original manufacturer's warranty or a second hand purchase warranty?

How much is a new alloy? How much is your time worth? why have you fought it for 2 years?

Our non-ford had an issue on all 4 alloys delaminating from the middle. The dealership initially denied it because they argued two of the wheels had kerbing damage to the rim and so repairing/replacing them would be betterment. I pointed out I could get the kerbing damage fixed for £120 so was willing to pay that as a contribution but they refused to do anything. Went to the Motor Ombudsman, within a week the dealership was on the phone to replace all four alloys FOC and no need to make a contribution. Probably 6 weeks end to end.

Sorry to hear of your condition, but that being the case why are you still battling it.  Pragmatism is you friend here, just get the wheels refurbished and draw a line under it.  You have far more important battles to fight.
