tip for restaurant.com - don't forget you can reduce the radius... by default it searches a 15mile radius of the zip code (89109)...

I change it to just 1 mile cos i can never be bothered to roam much off strip but there's other values you can change it too :D

obviously the smaller the radius, the less results are returned :)

That resaurant.com site has to be the worst site I have ever visited, I have been trying since about 2ish and have only managed to get 2 in my basket. Still looking for the melting pot that ferf suggested.

Thats it nearly 4 hours later (i must be mad) I have ordered and paid for 2 certificates, although not sure how the payment will go through with an american post code?

Yet to receive confirmation of order

My confirmation email came through three hours after my order was placed. It isn't usually quite this bad, but the 80% discount will have got a lot of people interested.

It's usually slow, but today has been ridiculous...I expect that they have a lot more traffic than normal due to the sale...remember it's not just Vegas they sell certificates for, but all over the country.

I was able to get in just now to see the certificates on my account - so maybe try that if the site is behaving better now?

Does anyone know the prices of the meals in the Top Of The World restaurant, in the Stratosphere. I want to book for the day of our 30th Wedding Anniversary while we're out there, but don't want to look a fool if it's beyond my means. On the website it gives you the menus, and says something about $30 per person for the wines. I'm asuming they're recommending a wine for each course (we'd be extremely drunk, and very poor)

I think that's $30 per person minimum for the whole order including food - so you can't just go up there, take a table and order a starter and go. Their menu recommends wines for some of the courses and gives a per glass price but you aren't obligated to order those wines (or any wine) of course. We spent about $200 before tip (I think it was before tip, but could have been after), no wine but one or two beers each. Very expensive for the quality of the food, but the view is stunning and obviously this is a special occasion for you (congrats by the way)

Many thanks for the restaurant.com link. I ordered 3 certificates a couple of hours ago and still haven't received email confirmation. I hope it appears as I don't have a printer at home. I will just have to remember to log into the site at work, but it's probably not worth printing them out yet anyway as we have nothing booked for Vegas yet. Hoping to go back in May next year which seems a lifetime away.

I'm sure it will be fine luci. The 80% discount is bound to have the site slowing down. I sent for my certs before the USA was awake and it still took three hours to get an acknowledgment.

    Hi everyone,

I'm so impressed with this thread! I've been working my way through all the posts over the last few weeks and my OH and I have booked a last minute week in Las Vegas departing 24th Aug!!! I'm so excited, it's our first trip to Vegas and we can't wait.

My OH will get to gamble and I'll get to shop - win, win!

We're staying at the Plane Hollywood and I'd appreciate any feedback from people who've stayed there?

Any other tips for a first-timer would be greatly appreciated :D

    Hx
