Clockwork Claims - Plevin Group Litigation

I've been bombarded with emails, text messages and a phone call to sign up to the Plevin Group Litigation. I've previously had a very small payout a couple of years ago for PPI. Clockwork looks and sounds legit but I would be great to hear from others. If I'm not wrong they did say a payout would be subject to a 50% fee for their costs but it would be no win no fee.

A message from them:
Thank you for your time today. We look forward to receiving the signed documents back so we can potenitally get your PPI money back through the Plevin Group Litigation Order. To sign, please click on the link in the Message from Clockwork Claims, followed by pressing 'Proceed' and signing in the white box presented. Once you sign, please click 'Apply'. We understand with so many scams out there, people can be worried about clicking on a link. However, please have peace of mind that you could recall originally trying to claim and we have not asked for any details off you and will not ask for details. We don't know how much longer the panel of solicitors will be acceptting new cases, so we are encouraging people to sign as soon as they can. There is also a 14-day cooling off period after you sign should you change your mind. Any questions or concerns, please call us on 01915802541. Thank you

Never pay a company money to do something you can do yourself.

Be careful what you sign. Some of these companies have you agreeing to them doing all your tax returns and having all refunds paid to them. Though most don't realise that's what they've signed up to.

IF you had a successful complaint, you would have received a refund of premiums plus interest.  i.e. you have had back everything.  There is nothing further to claim.

If you had a rejected complaint but received a plevin refund, then that is any commission over the 50% mark plus interest.    So, there is potential for a bit more but the fee of 50% plus VAT of 20% on that fee. means that even if they are successful, you are kissing goodbye to the majority of it.

I didn't keep the paperwork and can't remember which financial institution I got a small payout from but it may have been related to an account I had which they i.e. Clockwork Claims trading as Curzon Claims are looking at and requesting to represent me. Puzzling why they would want to rake over old ground as they must know I've already had a payout for that account since they have the name and details of my account at said financial institution. Glanced over the legal paperwork they sent me and after my head stopped spinning there seemed to be areas of contradiction as regards payout terms. Also they seemed to be employing the services of other legal firms as well such as Sandstone Legal. The hourly legal fees are eye watering if one had to pay out of their own pockets for it.

With many of these claims companies that suggest the courts be used, its not the successes that matter.  Its the number of people they get signed up.   They can then sell packs of people to other solicitors or go after crowdfunding saying they have x number of people to start litigation on.   They can make more money on wiping out the crowdfunders than they do on any successful cases.

Not saying that is the model used in this case.  Its just an example of a model that is often used.

They are a claims management company based in Manchester with 25 different trading names and not many reviews (although they are bad). If only I had a pound for every time I have seen this and things end badly!

Excusing the grammar on their website, this may help to give you an idea that your data may be spread far and wide if you choose to use them!

"We are a CMC specialising Plevin PPI Claims.

We work alongside a panel of Legal Partners that specialise in Plevin Litigation and package cases up for them to either purchase for an upfront fee or for them to run as part of a joint venture.

We also work alongside a network of CMC’s assisting them package cases to pass into our panel of Legal Partners."

I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!
