I have so far contacted approx 50 providers and NOTHING ZILCH ZERO
apart from £700 for a 5 day trip UK to Dublin….simply cannot afford
You do the right thing declare everything inc possible undiagnosed issue and you either get they can’t help or they give you a ridiculous price
So if you have some health issues you cannot get travel insurance or you can’t afford to go anywhere, forgive my cynicism but I’m being in effect actively discouraged not to travel because of this issue….tried Money helper directory and BIBA and am fast losing the will to even exist
any one with any helpful leads greatly appreciated
Thank you

I have a disability. My annual insurance declaring several conditions / surgeries is £420. Why are they taking you as such high risk? Because it's certainly not true that you can't get travel insurance with health issues.1

I've just taken out single worldwide trip travel insurance for £160 from stay sure and i have 4 diagnosis's

we got worldwide annual policy for me and my husband using Insurancewith.com for around £350 - worth a try with them! He has a whole host of conditions, but they are all diagnosed which might make a difference. Undiagnosed makes insurance companies very wary obviously.0

Undiagnosed issues are the biggest concern for insurers as they don't know what the risk is that they are insuring against. That's why premiums are so high, assuming you can get cover at all. Once you have a diagnosis you should find it much easier to get insurance.I got travel insurance with my bank account and only had to pay £60 for annual cover for my wife and myself. Their list of conditions they don't need to be informed of was so comprehensive that the only think that generated an extra cost was my hip replacement.0

Without trying to be sound funny... what is the "undiagnosed" condition? Would you be happy to travel with it excluded from cover, depending on what the problem is the exclusion could be very broad.0

We have an issue which is about a tiny growth, too too small for biopsy, doctors said a good chance that they might miss it if they tried, so we are in a ‘wait and see’ , scan every 6 months. It could be a cyst, it could be a tumour, it could be malignant or be benign…..we won’t know unless it grows. Even when I try to do on the phone…..we have had either a NO or ridiculous amounts. Update I’ve managed to get insurance with SAGA but still over £300. It certainly is stacked against disabled or people with medical issues1

It all depends on the conditions... our insurer accepts all of ours without any additional premiums as they are relatively well managed but certain things are big red flags. Ironically insurers dont like risk.0 -
I had an ongoing policy through my bank (packaged bank account) which would no longer cover my husband so I looked for a policy to cover his various medical issues (most recent at that point was heart attacks). It was a few hundred. I then got another quote with me included and the cost went down.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
