We ditched BG years ago when the engineers kept insisting we needed a new boiler, when ours was working fine.  They just wanted commission.

I went onto a local website and found a recommended engineer.  We had him in to replace the boiler and two rads.  He was a third cheaper than BG just for their boiler replacement.   He came out during Covid, when we had a problem and he was only attending current customers.   £80 for a yearly service so we self-insure.  Far better than the near £50 per month BG wanted.
