Miele C3 Complete vacuum cleaner - difficult to push

Just bought a Miele C3 Complete vacuum cleaner & it has good suction but on carpets it is quite difficult to push.
Have changed the settings (have 6 different settings controlled by my foot) & 2 on the floor head switching between carpet & hard floor.
I've got mainly carpet with some vinyl & tiling on floor of my flat.
I'm looking at getting a turbo brush accessory but not sure if it will solve the issue.

First is to reduce the suction to a low setting (minimum) and ensure you are on the correct setting (no bristles on carpet, bristles out for smooth.
Is it then easier to push and pull? (Naturally it won't suck up the dirt as fast / well as using a higher speed).
You should not be applying any weight on to the handle to press it on/into the surface (especially thick carpet). Just allow it to glide over the surfaces.
The handle has an air inlet slider vent that can reduce suction further still.
They are well designed devices and do have good suction at low speeds. The hard floor bristles can make it a tad harder to push across carpet even when retracted via the head switch, if the carpet is long pile.
Turbo brush might be a tad easier on carpet, but won't work well on hard surfaces. Also (apparently) it is unsuitable for certain types of carpet weaves as it is 'abrasive' in action. So you'd need to keep swapping heads to suit the surface.
I have the turbo brush and hoovering our large bedroom carpet is one of my 'workout' sessions used on middling suction, leaving the "shark's teeth" markings on the pile. Also have the parquet floor bristles only head for the hard surfaces downstairs.0 -
Adjust the suction to a lower setting and try vacuuming the carpet in a different direction. Is you carpet low pile or quite a deep pile?30+ years working in banking0

You can pull the two sealing lips out of the side of the suction foot. To do this, you just have to loosen the four screws on the suction foot to open the suction foot. Without the sealing lips, the suction foot will not cling to the carpet fibers as quickly. This makes it easier to push the suction foot over tight-meshed carpets.
