Booking.com refund

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help with some advice regarding a refund from booking.com. last week I was supposed to be staying at a hotel in Newport. When I arrived at the hotel there was a hand written note on the door saying hey we've been closed down go to traveloge round corner. Everywhere was booked up as the foo fighters were playing in Cardiff, so me and my wife went to the gig and then had to drive home after.  

I have been trying to get a refund from booking.com to no avail. Each time they say we will contact the hotel to confirm what happen and then issue the refund within 24 hours, I have told them they will not get a response as they have shut down, and we keep going round in circles. 

Is there anything else I can do?

Ideally, you would have contacted Booking when you arrived to find the note. They usually find you somewhere else or refund straightaway. 

After the fact, it’s more involved. All you can do is put in a complaint.
