Ouch. I'd want a whole new kitchen for that amount. Is it with Dream Doors/Granite Transformations type company?

We had a quote for £13K from GT.  We decided to live with the existing layout, had all the units sprayed another colour, new sink, new laminate worktops for about £4K. It was done about a year ago, and honestly, you wouldn't know the doors were ever a different colour.

How did you guess! Yes, was from Dream Doors!
I knew it was going to be expensive, but didn't think it would be that much! Glad I was right. Think we're going to book an online consultation with Magnet as they do very similar to what we was looking at with Dream Doors.

Do Magnet do a replacement doors only service?

We bought a kitchen carcass from Howdens to create a vanity unit in our shower room. We bought doors and vinyl to wrap the unit from these people. Happy with the results. They make to your measurements.

They don't, but a few people have said it can sometimes work out cheaper having the whole lot replaced rather then just the doors. Got a video consultation with Magent on Friday, so will see how that goes!

Had door & drawer fronts from them myself a few years back. OK quality, but don't expect them to last. I have a plinth heater, and the vinyl wrapped drawer fronts (wide pan drawer over the heater) is peeling. Wrap on doors adjacent to the oven has bubbled, and I have a few other doors where the vinyl is starting to come unstuck.
Overall, for the price I paid, they have lasted quite well (6-7 years so far). Will be looking at replacements within the next couple of years, and I'll go for solid wood when I do.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I got all my doors and panels from onlinekitchensUk. They are 22mm thick lacquered door by second nature. Then fitted them myself. Cost about £1500

Thanks @john.h  - That looks really smart, I shall have a look at them. Is that a quartz overlay worktop?
    Magnet quoted £24k!

No that’s the original quartz worktop. It would be easier to strip off the old worktop and replace with solid quartz. Having the worktop on made the job replacing end panels a lot harder.
I priced the same doors up on Diykitchens and they were about £600 more expensive.

If it was me I would get a joiner in to rip off the old worktops and replace all the kitchen doors. Then get a company in to template and fit new quartz worktops. Can you even have a undermount sink in overlay worktops?
  • Just as an update, Got JoesDoors around and their quote was £6k cheaper. The surveyor came two days later and was here for over 2 hours taking measurements - A good sign.
They start work in a months time.
