Capquest Scam

Hello, I received a text from Capquest a few days with the wrong name stating I owed a debt and to get in touch. I don't have any debts so blocked the number.
I got another message today which does not allow me to block the number, still with the incorrect name. They state they have sent me a letter (I don't have a letter) and suggest that I register with them. they provide a reference number and a website address. It all looks official but I did not register. I Googled them and can see they have been sending out texts and scams to other people and they have very negative reviews and they are scammers. I am not sure how to block the texts as this one came through as Capquest and not a mobile number. Has anybody had this issue? How do I report them?

They are a legitimate debt collector and debt buyer who do specialise in bottom-end debt.
If they are not writing to you, I would not respond atm. You can ignore texts.
No point complaining though you should keep an eye on your credit file1 -
How long have you had that phone number?1

It's almost certainly not a "scam", they've just got your number associated with somebody else.1

Thank you. I have had my number for over 20 years. First time I have received messages like this and from this company. They have the incorrect name in their texts.
Not sure if they are fishing for some information. I assume I have to fill in details if I go to their website with the reference mumber they have provided.
If I don't get any letters do I just forget about it? Or respond if they send me more texts? Feels weird to worry about some debt that I don't owe or know about! I have checked my credit file and don't see anything new on there.0 -
You can ignore them unless they actually start chasing you (rather than whatever name they've got).1

I have reported the Capquest texts to 7726. I got another text with the wrong name saying I have a letter waiting for me on the Capquest portal. To see anything you have to fill lots of personal details. On the website "who called me" there are lots of other people who have received these texts with wrong names. They have also reported Capquest. Thanks..0

Ignore them - nothing will come of it (for you).0
