LEEDS AIRPORT PARKING TICKET

Hi guys I drove my son to Leeds airport and there was a red area that wasn’t allowing people to park I stopped in that area as I was lost and was sorting my satnav not realising.. we didn’t get out the car just turned round and went to the car park where I paid for parking even though I was only dropping off. A week or so later I then went on holiday myself for two weeks and when I got back there were two letters first one saying we received the fine the next saying it had been escalated- I emailed the car park people but they said it had gone too far and nothing they could do. I was no way paying £170 so stupidly left it and now just received a Letter of Claim from DCB LEGAL. I’m panicking - what should I do? This is in my sons name but I was driving.

Newbies/FAQ thread is your first port of call. The second post in that thread explains what you must now be done. Under no circumstances should the driver be identified. If your son is the registered keeper everything should be responded to in is name.

Do not panic. It is interesting that VCS has given this to DCB Legal for action. Normally, VCS are vexatious little pieces of excrement but if they are using DCB Legal as their solicitor, then they already realise that they have little hope of getting a penny out of you unless you are low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree, ripe for the picking.

Follow the advice in the Newbies/FAQ thread, second post. When a claim is filed (it will) follow the instructions on the Template Defence thread and you can guarantee that eventually you will see your username in lights I this thread:

No real harm done so far, not when you realise that it's a common method of extortion at airport's in England and Wales. The main thing is to not divulge who was driving, because there is no FINE and no KEEPER LIABILITY either

VCS normally do these in house or start with Elms legal, so as mentioned above its interesting that they are trying DCB Legal instead. No need to panic, but do study the topics and get up to speed
