Legal Aid how to dispute

Just wondering if anyone knows the process of disputing if individuals have managed to secure legal aid. We are currently involved in a civil dispute over a right of way and currently have an interim injunction granting us our right of way. The neighbours have failed to adhere fully to the injunction and as such we have started committal proceedings against them. They have secured legal aid for the committal proceeding (criminal offence) despite the fact that one of the parties in receipt of a police pension they own two properties between them one mortgage free the other with a small mortgage.

You can't dispute the fact that someone is entitled to legal aid. They either are or they aren't entilted to it - and that specific is none of your business. Are you suggesting that they have fraudulently claimed legal aid? Because if you make such a claim and are wrong, the right of way dispute will be the least of your worries.

I think in cases like this Legal Aid is awarded fairly quickly as they may need to be represented in court.

That doesn't mean the LA will continue abound.

I don't know what the legal aid rules are now, but the process of being approved involves a financial assessment based on providing proof.

It is not up to you to dispute whether they qualify or not. If they have lied it will eventually be discovered and is a criminal matter, legal aid fraud can lead to a prison term depending on the amount defrauded.

Being bitter because they have legal aid isn't a good attitude to have. Just deal with your side of the dispute.

They may still be entitled to legal aid even in those circumstances, doesn't mean it's fraudulent. Focus on your case.
