Watching videos on TicTok of professional car valeting.

Many use steam cleaners and spray foam which they then brush into nooks and crannies to dislodge dirt and the before and after pics are amazing.

But,

Doesn't spraying foam/steam and liquid cleaners onto/into switches, radios and screens if not immediately but over time damage them and cause internal corrosion issues etc ?

I remember looking at cars for my daughter and one had just been 'professionally cleaned' inside.  The vendor had to replace the climate control panel as it no longer worked after.  Scanning the car came up with about a million cluster, climate control and infotainment faults.  We ran away  :D

Steam and many spray cleaners will damage them over time.

It is best to use branded cleaning products from auto specialists like Autoglym, and only use them onthe surfaces that the manufacturer recommends them for.

Bamboo skewers and a stiff paint brush are good for getting dirt out of cracks. Microfibre cloths are fine for most surfaces, but are very slightly abrasive so I would not use them on a very shiny plastic surface such as a radio display if you want the ultimate lifespan out such items. (A cotton cloth would be best for such surfaces, but make sure it is kept in a clean plastic container until it is next used for cleaning the same item - don't use it for cleaning anything else).
