I agree with @harri_dav in using a travel company for disabled travelers can provide comfort and safety because staff are trained to meet their specific needs. A friend of mine traveled to Japan and had a wonderful time with a private local guide from https://gowithguide.com/ that is trained to handle disabled customers. However, not every company is great at serving disabled travelers, so it's important to pick reputable ones that value accessibility and inclusivity. Also, everyone's travel needs are different, so finding the perfect match is key to having a great time and feeling comfortable.

I got into an argument with my social worker about holiday costs. He was adamant that despite using Direct Payments to hire my own support at home I was NOT permitted to reduce the cost of the holiday by simply hiring a PA with a drivers licence at the location (within the UK).  His logic still escapes me.
