Good morning,
On Friday my switch completed from Barclays to TSB.
This morning I received a text message from my credit card provider stating payment would be taken from my old bank account card (not DD).

I updated payment card but worried that they will attempt from old card and not new card. Unfortunately credit card company is shut.
Anyone been on this position before and can offer any advice? Should I just make an extra payment? Or will it go through on my new card? Or something else?
Thanks

I've never heard of a credit card taking payment via debit card on a recurring basis - usually it's debit card (16 digits) for one-offs and Direct Debit (8 digit account number and 6 digit sort code) for recurring payments, are you sure you have that right? Also with direct debit it does take a few days for them to set a new one up, hence seeing an old number instead of a new number if you've only just changed it. With debit cards they could, theoretically, set up a new recurring payment instantly, although it may well still be delayed, depending on the speed of your credit card company's internal systems.(The reason it's usually DD and not card is because DD is much cheaper for the banks then card fees, so I would be surprised if any card company is doing that)You are right that debit card payments are not transferred by the current account switch service so you will need to make an extra payment (at least the minimum) from your new card in order to not miss it. I'd personally do that as soon as possible just to make sure it goes through before the due date.

Do you mind sharing the name of your credit card issuer, and whether this a card which is still available? As @figgyc notes above this sounds like an unusual situation.
