Morning again, I'm now armed with coffee.
It's a lovely start here, hope it continues.
Peony, don't let having not much to say stop you posting, as Taff said, most of us don't lead exciting lives.Just pop in to say hello.
Taff, hope you're feeling better today.
Good to hear your Dad is a bit better Nanny.
Also good to hear that your dg d is doing well Dp1.
Hope the craft fair went well Allie.
TA, sorry to read that you've had such bad news about about family members, so upsetting isnt it.
Thanks for your good wishes for our holiday, we are going to the N Yorks coast, always a favourite with us, and not far.
Also, thanks for your good wishes for my hospital appt, to be honest I'm not expecting good news there, but we'll see.
Good that you've emptied a freezer, difficult isn't it. I now try and fight the urge to buy stuff because it's on offer, then start cramming it into the freezer. There are always more offers.
Enjoy your holiday Ruby, Devon is lovely.
Today we'll go over to the caravan and put clothes in, and other bits and pieces.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I had the most rubbishy night ever last night. I was awake more than I was asleep.
My garage door is now secure again thanks to DS. It wasn't the hinge at fault it was the frame coming away from the wall. They are double wood doors and DS made them up for us when he was about 20. So that puts them around 30 so he obviously made them to last!
It was my turn to be a busy bee in the afternoon. Youngest DGD rang to see if I was in and could help her with some costume sewing for the show next w/e. I've certainly sewn with better fabric over the years I must say! It was long fleecy trim for the wrists, ankles and a tail of a cat costume. Fortunately the tutu itself didn't need attention. It was a very faffy job but she was happy with the result. She ended up staying the night so I am creeping around quietly to let her sleep. It's final rehearsals this afternoon and don't want her going all bleary eyed!
It's supermarket sweep day, running shoes at the ready, and DS will let me know what time when he is sorted. His DP normally does the midweek shop and he tops up on a Sunday but she had a better offer this week!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, and pets too. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all,
Thank you for your kind comments.
Thinking of all of you who have worries.
Like others, I was up at 2am this morning, for some reason my joints have began paining me, perhaps it’s the rain? Anyway, I crept to the sitting room and my heated back pad and this has helped. Although, it gets so hot I need the fan on as well, trying to not be in a draught.
It will be a quiet day today, reading my Thrush Green book on my kindle, watching football and cooking a roast dinner now it’s a little cooler.
Take care all.

Morning everyone, thanks Scarlet and hope you enjoy N.Yorks, hope the weather is good. Pretty dull here, not raining though.TA, shame about the rubbish sleep. I had an early start to my Sunday morning as pooch wanted to get up early, so I've been trying to keep her quiet for the last hour so the menfolk can have a bit longer. I'll feed her shortly and then take her out. I don't think we're going to the classic car show now with DB1 and SIS. After a days rain yesterday they reckon the field they use as a car park will be boggy. Plus there's a big race around town and some roads are shut.Last weekend there was a similar car event in the park up the road and an older couple got their car stuck on the grass, wheels churning & getting deeper. Some young teenagers came over to help and I joined in along with a man to push the car out.The lady was very thankful as her DH had dementia, so we don't want a repeat of that with our own car!The curry I made was very tasty last night, none left anyway
I have some prawns to use up so I might make a prawn cocktail for later, and probably the glazed ham shanks from marks which are lovely. Probably have to eat earlier as the England match is on - hope they don't have to pause the game due to thunder/lightning like they did with Germany/Denmark last night, the rain was torrential and pouring off the stadium roof.
I have read back from yesterday but can't remember what was said to reply individually sorry, some of you do so well with that- not me, mind like a sieve! So I'll wish everyone well and hope you have a good day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Morning allA bit dull this morning but no rain forecast. I did laugh at those 2 men showering under the torrential water coming down from the roof at the football match @RosyRed Early dinner for us too to watch England later, fingers crossed they turn up for this one!Shopping delivery in a couple of hours and DS will be up after he's watched the F1 race to collect some items he added on to it!Apart from that a quiet day.Hugs to all that need them and have a good day x8

Morning everyone it’s bright washer should be finished soon I will get that hung out I had a good walk yesterday I intend to do the same today I might make it later on in the day when the footballs on . Scarlet hope you enjoy N Yorks we used to go to Ruswarp a few years ago it was a mile walk into Whitby we used to rent a lovely cottage right on the river but when we got little dog it was a no no to many ducks for a terrier or terror which ever way you want to say it . I’m going to cook a little beef joint and make a dinner later there will enough left over for tomorrow. Peony I hope your pains ease I know how miserable it can be when you are aching all over . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Having a rare ‘later’ morning with tea in bed! Did wake about 545 but must have dropped off again - also rare!Decent craft fair yesterday - better than recent ones and was next to a lovely stall holder so chatted all day which made the day go very quickly. And came home with free leftover cake! Some sorting and tidying to do today but also the usual list of outdoor chores while it’s dry and no builder here including moving some large plant pots, DF and next door neighbour are primed as it’ll be a three person job I think.Scarlet - have a great holiday, that’s a lovely part of the country.
TA - sounds like a good sewing job tackled!
Enjoy your day everyone

Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet - have a lovely time in N.Yorks.Yesterday was rather wishy-washy, and that was just me. I kept changing my mind about going out, I really wanted to but there wasn't anything I wanted to do.
There were lots of events happening in and around but all 'family' things and doggy things, I don't have a family or a dog! So, I stayed in pottering.
The other day I bought a spice set for butter chicken which was a tiny packet of dried herbs, a base sauce and then the main one. I hadn't tried it before and wanted to have a taste, luckily it was easy to make (I know that it's just as easy without the set) and very enjoyable. The left-overs are in the fridge for tomorrow. Of course, the downside is that the house still reeks of curry.@Peony - I rarely have anything of consequence to write so please feel free to add your idle thoughts too.@TA - well done to your DS for fixing things, and how fab that he built it originally. And I just love it that your DGD's value your skills and want to be with you.Later today I'm off back down to Glasgow to see a play tonight. "Murder Trial Tonight 2" - based on a true crime - Through expert storytelling and immersive staging, Tigerslane Studios creates an unforgettable experience that blurs the lines between reality and fiction. As a member of the jury, you will have full access to all the evidence and testimonies presented in court, giving you the power to decide the fate of the defendant. Think it's loosely about the woman who killed her partner and blamed it on a road rage incident. Could be rubbish, could be good, it's better than watching football which never rocks my boat.Right, coffee has brewed, bag is packed, dishwasher emptied and now will faff around a bit more. I hope that everyone is doing OK.

Morning all from a damp and dreary mehefinland
Well finally reached the allotted 3score and 10 yesterday and celebrated with a big a party in the back garden with friends and neighbours but regrettably not DS who was in Wembley watching Green day!! Mrs M not impressed would be putting it lightly. Never mind we had a good time and finally kicked the last one out at 1.30 ish this morning. We started at 5.30 so it was a bit of a marathon. Just got to clear up and put things back in their usual homes now.
A friend did a buffet for us, we said for 20 knowing we would be more and I think she did it for more like 40!! Sossie roll anyone?
The daughter of another friend who is a professional cake maker did me a beautiful themed cake and was extremely upset when it did a leaning tower of Pisa act in her car on the way to us. It didn't matter it tasted gorgeous. White chocolate and raspberry on the top, with chocolate orange flavour on the bottom tier. Will try to post a picky at some point.
All in all a tiring day and not particularly MSE (although there are lunches etc for several days!) but enjoyable, and quite noisy . At least it was the neighbours being the noisy ones so there won't be any complaints lol.
Horses can have a quiet day today.
Hugs and spoons as always
A rather bleary eyed Mehefin

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarletribbons
TA sorry to hear your bad news, pleased your DS managed to fix the garage door.
Mehefin belated happy birthday.
Gers the play sounds really interesting and fun
Bad night again, saw the sun rise so 24 hours without sleep, must have dozed off and woke at 7.
I tied the tomato plants up and removed some of the leaves. My greenhouse is quite small and they had taken over. Found I have quite a few tomatoes forming.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.9
