    Wow your garden looks amazing!! I bet it is an absolute haven for wildlife - well done. I imagine it brings you so much joy every time you look at ait!

    Maybe start your own thread [ meant in the nicest possible way] but wow, good job there, now you need some winding brick paths :)

    @Working_Mum & @-taff
    Thanks both. I don’t have much knowledge but I know what I like. Sorry about all the huge photos.
    I was trying to show OP @Helen8012what we’ve managed in a few years with trial & error and not much spent. Husband does the digging & heavy weeding, I do the rest. Still some gaps to fill & searching for some stepping stones so can reach weeds without trampling everything else.

    I'm going to go against the grain here. A few doors down one of my neighbours has a front garden that could charitably be categorised as a cottage garden. Its mature and full of the most beautiful roses, lavender, delphinium, hollyhocks, phlox and the like. lt also sports a dark ground membrane that is barely concealed by much-displaced gravel. Its a riot of colour but is not maintained at all and frankly, it looks like a damn mess.

    I can imagine it to be a constant source of irritation to his next door neighbour, who religiously manicures his own Italian style front garden early on Sunday mornings to perfection! I'm also very glad its not me.
    No man is worth crawling on this earth.

    So much to read, so little time.

    I'm glad it's not me, too. Suburbia: been there, done it and not going back. Simply awful! Commiserations. :)
