EDF Ensure
Low user on E7 looking to reduce standing charge. Ensure advertises discounted standing charge applied £25 (per fuel). Quoted SC 61.05 per day. Is this before the £25 discount, which presumably is applied either end of year or pro rata to monthly bill? Appreciate it if anyone knows

My quote shows the standing charge already discounted without any other discounts due (60.57 for Yorkshire)BillTee said:Low user on E7 looking to reduce standing charge. The svt sc for Southern Western for SR is 67.21p.
£25/365 discount per fuel = 6.85 p daily.
Reducing it to 60.36p.
Oops but your on E7.
And The Ofgem mulirate sc 67.91p, so reduced to 61.06p.
Pretty much as quoted 61.05p allowing for truncation/rounding.
There a little more here in mse 1yr fix guide - but suspect you might have to ask edf themselves for details.

Thank you Scot_39, that's very helpful and explains everything. I was hoping the SC would be a little lower but until the gov steps in, I guess it's how companies are getting around the unit caps.0

The SC is also capped in exactly the same calculation by OFGEM.0 -
While this tariff is getting publicised for lowerBillTee said:
Might be worth getting a quote from British Gas for 14 month fixed tariff, electricity has SC reduction, unit rate for one rate meter is cheaper than most other large suppliers. key thing is EDF unit rate likely to increase from 1 October, British Gas unit rate might be cheaper during winter months.than EDF unit rate.Low user on E7 looking to reduce standing charge.
