I have recently found out that scottish power have added a new account to my credit file a default for 186.00. For something called a special arrangement.
I have no clue what this is and have never been in debt with my energy gas or lec.. I am on pre payment metres and have never had a bill for my metres. I've always had them and yop io by key and by card.
What could this be as scottisb power are being very coy and rude with me. Help please 😆

I suggest you send them a "prove it" letter so they have to give you all the details. If they don't respond open a complaint. If they don't resolve it then escalate to the ombudsman.

You won't get anywhere by phoning them. Send an email headed COMPLAINT and tell them you require a written response, not by phone, within 8 weeks or you will escalate it

I have spoken with them and they have advised that my account has never been in arrears nor had a special arrangement (which is a payment plan to them). They also checked and can see no defaults marked on my account anywhere so they have forwarded it to their credit file team to have it removed0 -
Just an update in case anyone else is having this issue - so they removed the default showing for April/May and all was fine, my bill was produced a few days ago and another default for June has now appeared on my credit file.
I have contacted them again and it is now a known issue as apparently they have just started reporting all customers and anyone on a prepayment meter is being reported as "arrangement to pay" and they are apparently working on a solution to have this rectified going forward so that it is not showing as a default0
