Now you've given us the Date of Issue of 20 June 2024, forum regular @KeithP will be along shortly to provide you with some key dates to work to, and initial advice and links to enable you to get your Defence underway. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th June, you have until Tuesday 9th July to file an Acknowledgment of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 23rd July 2024 to file your Defence. That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.4 -
Gr1pr said:You had to add a sentence of 10 characters or more, as well as the redacted picture, that was your problem, but congrats on redacting it correctly as I mentioned, very imaginative and better than most
I presume that YOU are the defendant, because you are or were the registered keeper, so its your job to defend yourself
So its C P Plus, Group Nexus, via DCB Legal as usual , for £283, so an inflated claim as usual, issue date of 20 June 2024
So login to MCOL and complete just the AOS online, nothing else on MCOL, leaving everything else alone ! If you have not done so already1 -

As I tried to convey, I may or may not have been the driver and I'm convinced the dates have been fabricated, but this cannot be proven and so is irrelevant. The ONLY way I would have been parked in the bay, if I were the driver, would be if mum were by my side. Should I use the defence that her BB must have dropped out of sight? I wish I could recall what I did last week, let alone years ago!
Mum has dementia, heart failure and mobility issues. I am an unpaid carer, I work full time and my parents live with me. Not that this makes any difference, as I am the defendant, but feel as though I must defend some of the earlier posts?
I would NEVER abuse the system that has been put into place to make the lives of those that struggle, even harder! I am able bodied and I do not need to park in a disabled bay.

What evidence have they provided that the BB was not displayed? You can evidence the BB. The burden of proof is on the claimant to prove that it wasn't on display, not you to prove it was.3

Thanks to all that have helped... Instructions followed... I submitted a defence, N180 completed and answered a mediator call. I received lots of emails pressuring me to pay to settle which I ignored and finally a court date was set. I was preparing my WS when I received an email informing me that the case has been discontinued.
I actually feel a little disappointed that I couldn't fight for any compensation. My poor parents would have paid the ovefinflated amount weeks ago due to the stress caused. I can't believe that they are still getting away with this.

I can't believe that they are still getting away with this. While Coupon-mad's work on Govt Private Parking Steering Group continues, motorists can also help keep the pressure on Govt by signing/share Stanley Luckhurst's re-issued petition (previous one closed early due to GE)Bring the Parking Code of Practice into law, as per the 2019 Act of Parliament. The petition runs for 6 months closing 6 June 20258
