Ad supported Netflix on Fire TV

Hi folks,
I was downgraded by Netflix to their ad supported tier as the plan I was on was discontinued.
I'm now getting an error that my Fire TV doesn't support the ad tier so I either need to swap for a new device or change my price plan.
Has anyone been on the ad tier and think that spending on the ad-free one would be money better spent?
Or should I just ditch them and go to Disney+ 😉
Thanks

What Fire TV product do you have exactly?

I just signed up for 3 months free on Disney+ via Tesco Clubcard.I'm not sure there's enough content for me to stay after the free period. Then again, I struggled to find things to watch with Netflix whilst I had Sky, so I wouldn't stick with them either.2

Seems it's a known "feature"

10-year old tech, if you want to upgrade then Amazon Prime Day is upcoming, Fire kit always gets a decent discount (and sometimes even a few quid off for trade-ins).

I wouldn't bother with the Amazon Trade-in, I sent my 2nd generation fire stick off with all the promises of yes we'll take it and we'll give you 20% off a shiny new one, or about £3.Anyway I sent it off, they had it for about three seconds and then decided it didn't qualify and send it back. Never saw it again and now that's reminded me, looking at the tracking its sort of gone on a jolly all over the country but hasn't come anywhere near me, in fact it took the courier two months to send back to Amazon from whatever fictional they've sent it to in the first place!TL;DR - yes, there's your problem. First generation hardware tends to drop off the support status after a while. The latest generation Firesticks are always on offer during Prime Day or the Flash sales.1

All it said was "ASIN Swap Failed".Which I googled. And it took me to a thread on the Amazon Forum which suggests its not a new thing...1
