Expedia Hotel booking

Just arrived back from a 4-night stay in Tent Calvia, Magalluf. Booked with Expedia. Arrived to find the place was under construction, not ready. Easy enough to prove, we have pics and videos. There are also various reviews doing the rounds supporting our story. We didn't have the dough to book another so we stayed and made do with it. 

On our last day we found out around 16-18 of the people who arrived at the same time as us, were all transferred to other hotels and upgraded to All-Inclusive.
When I arrived home I requested a refund and compensation from Expedia. They refused after contacting the hotel. Fairly confident my credit card are refunding the money.

Do I have a case for compensation? I don't think a refund is enough.

    Did you raise the issue when you arrived with them?

    If you stayed for the duration of the stay, don't bank on a refund via CC.

    If you get a full refund - what basis is your compensation for? ( what loss have you incurred ) - this is the question that will be asked.

    If you get a full refund - a 4 day free holiday seems a good deal.

    Did the other people who got upgraded book through expedia as well?
