Rightmove sold property information

Why is it that when you look at sold data for flats, all the photos have been removed. You can look back at photos of sold houses, but flat images get deleted.

I think it's just coincidence for the properties you happen to be looking at, rather than a policy. I can see plenty of flats with photos and houses without.

more likely it depends on the estate agent and what info they leave on rightmove.

perhaps some EA's tend to specialise in Flats and they don't leave the photos on,

It's very unlikely that Rightmove have deleted the images.

It might be an issue with 'address matching' - which is sometimes harder with flat addresses, than house addresses.
    • Land registry provide an address, as it appears on the deeds (along with a sale price)
    • Rightmove's software tries to match that with an address provided by an estate agent when the property was last listed (to find the correct images)

If the software can't match the addresses, it can't display the relevant images.

Rightmove retain all the data from listings (including images) in their property database - even after estate agents end listings.

As of 2013 they claimed they had 2 billion images stored, so I guess they have many more than that now.

The seller can also ask for the images to be removed - I requested this for my late mother's house and Rightmove took them down straight away.

Thanks all.  The ones I'm not seeing are retirement flats (just nosing, not looking to buy!).

the inheritor asked for it to be taken down so HMRC can no longer see the antique Ming vase in the photo that they "forgot" to declare for inheritance tax and have now sold

Can't imagine that a whole development has had a Ming or other valuable property in every flat :D
