scrapping a UK motorcycle in Italy

Hi all,
I need a bit of advice on this topic. I brought my Honda PCX 125cc back with me to Italy 4 years ago but never swapped the number plate for an Italian one due to the high cost involved. Moped’s life came to an end and it needs to be scrapped now. I found a place that would do the job and also produce a document/paperwork to confirm scrapping details.
Now my question is, do I need to inform DVLA about the moped being scrapped in Italy? Do I need to send the number plate and VC5 logbook back DVLA? It is important for you all to know that at the time I moved back to Italy, I filled and sent DVLA the “permanent export” section on the logbook and the export maker shows as a YES. I would really appreciate some advice on this, also considering that the UK is no longer part of the EU and have no idea if there is a different practice/regulation to follow.
Many thanks in advance!

From a DVLA perspective, you don't need do anything. It's been exported. It's ceased-to-be as far as they're concerned.
The fact it never got registered in another country is neither here nor there. That other country don't tell DVLA anything anyway - that's the job of the last UK keeper, and you did it.1 -
The registration number is given to the vehicle, rather than the registered keeper, and it will usually stay with the vehicle until it is destroyed, broken up or permanently exported out of the country.
So how did you keep the registration plate?Life in the slow lane0 -

The vehicle hasn't had a right to display that mark since DVLA were notified it was exported. It's been illegal to use anywhere in the developed world since then.
The slab of plastic is just a slab of plastic with some letters and numbers on it. It can go in the recycling.2 -
Not sure how you rode around Italy for 4 years without insurance. 125cc isn't a "moped" either.
