I believe that you can elect to have a half price electricity rate, with a smart meter, on a Sunday afternoon, with British Gas.
Is this opportunity available with Octopus?
Thanks in anticipation.

No. But you can go on the Octopus Tracker, where (ever since I went on the tariff last Feb) the daily rate has been below the price cap every day, although can go above. 14p a unit electric tomorrow for example, as its a bit windy and a lot (relatively speaking) of solar in the system too.
Weekends when its very windy it has been known to go 10p or lower.1 -
Or look at Agile Octopus. You sometimes get paid to use electricity on that tariff. Today prices have been down to less than 2p/kWh. If you can minimise usage in the evening 4pm-7pm peak you can easily save 20-30% compared with the SVT. It's generally very cheap overnight, too.2

Or depending where you live, Octopus Power Ups where you get free electricity at certain times.OROctopus Fan Club, location dependant, 20-50% off when windy.2

But to give this some real context the average on the latest tracker someone can join for my region Eastern for the past 30 days is 20.29p kwh.la531983 said:No. But you can go on the Octopus Tracker, where (ever since I went on the tariff last Feb) the daily rate has been below the price cap every day, although can go above. 14p a unit electric tomorrow for example, as its a bit windy and a lot (relatively speaking) of solar in the system too.

We can all do headlines like the daily mail but here I feel we need to give a bigger picture.4 -
It's not just Sundays. British Gas now offer half price electricity at other periods when there is surplus renewable energy available. The scheme is called PeakSave Green Flex.davetaller said:I believe that you can elect to have a half price electricity rate, with a smart meter, on a Sunday afternoon, with British Gas.
