in Credit cards
Got to be a bit cryptic here, for reasons of anonymity.
Recently applied for a 9 month 0% deal with fee-free BT's. Initially rejected, but accepted following a review of my fiscal affairs. Obtained a 5 figure credit limit, equalling the highest of my 3 other stoozing cards.
Then nothing happened for 2 weeks.
I rang up to chase it, was promised a speedy response, and was invited to do the BT before getting the Card/PIN or even activating the card - which I did.
The BT was done earlier this week, with the money now showing on my other card. 2 days later TWO letters arrived containg my PIN number - both different!
I phoned to check and was told there was a glitch and that TWO cards would also be sent. Indeed, TWO cards arrived today - both with different 16 digit numbers.
However, as there is no way of referencing the PIN's to their relevant card number, what's a man to do...?
Obviously, I have to activate both cards don't I?
"Certainly Sir", says the very pleasant girl on the telephone, "both cards are now activated". "Is there a balance transfer already showing on the card?", I ask. "No, sir, would you like to do one?". "I thought I had", replies I. "No, there's no BT on this card - the balance is zero. There is one showing on your other card though". "Can I do a BT on this card then?", I ask. "I'd be very happy to do that for you now Sir", says my friend.
At this point I was trying to stifle my excitement, and thinking that surely I can't get away with it! In a split second (OK then a bit longer!), I had evaluated the situation...
Pro's
1/ £400 additional stooze profit over the next 9 months
2/ 2 cards for the price of ONE credit check (for a further 87% of my salary)
3/ If they review the tapes, they'll here me checking/double checking everything we discussed (at one point I actually asked "you've sent me TWO cards - are you having a BOGOF offer this month?")
Con's
1/ They can ask for the money back (but they'd have to ask me rather than the recipient card company, wouldn't they?)
2/ Can't think of any more!!!
Like I said in the title.....Am I lucky, or what?

Sometimes when you upgrade with the same provider, they dont cancel the existing card, so you end up with 2 similar cards that way also....
Its a common occurance, if not annoying on occasion.....depends what your out to achieve.
Be cautious in your case though, since I've not witnessed this occur with a new app, but it smells, looks and tastes the same so far...
Remember, they do have the right to revoke or change limits/credit facilities at any time,
ho hum - enjoy!Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0
