Parking fine at supermarket

I had the same happen but while visiting a hospital. The fine was never paid as in order for the collection of the fine to proceed and contact me by letter, the DVLA had to give them my details - they would have to break the Data Protection Law. You cannot prosecute someone by first breaking a law to do that. I ignored the charge and heard nothing more.

Other than the fact you have started a new thread rather than replying to an existing one, the final line of your statement is no longer the suggested course of action in England and hasnt been for some time.0

It's perfectly legitimate for DVLA to share keeper details with organisations who have a legitimate requirement for them, and you agreed to that when you registered the vehicle in your name. You cannot prosecute someone by first breaking a law to do that.
They didn't break the law, and you aren't being prosecuted.
Assuming all the signage was compliant - which it usually is - then you were sent a totally legally enforceable invoice for the fee which you implicitly agreed to pay by parking there.
Just imagine the chaos if people could park wherever they felt entitled to, with absolutely no restriction or comeback...
Clamping and towing have been illegal for years, so these invoices are the ONLY comeback available to the owners and operators of land.I ignored the charge and heard nothing more.
Since when...? You may yet have an expensive surprise on the way.2 -
I have no idea what this thread is about, but would it be better placed on the Parking tickets, fines & parking board?0
