PA11 and PA15

Options
Hello. My ex husband has just died suddenly. His will, done 20 years ago, appoints friends to be executors. My kids what to sort out the estate and the named executors are happy for them to do it now my kids are adults.

We have filled in PA11 to allow the original executors to appoint my kids in their place.
My quesion is what do we do with the form once completed?
Do we just keep it and send it with the probate application or does it need to be registered in the courts?

Thanks for your help anyone who answers.

PA11 does not replace the executors it gives your children power of attorney to act for them. This needs to be completed by the executors, but the better option here is for the executors to renounce and your children apply for LOA with will annexed.

This will require the executors to both complete PA15.
