Since the middle of December I have had about 4 unpaid bill reminders, debt collection and disconnection threat letters from British Gas Business completely out the blue for both Gas and Electricity totalling owing amounts of £398.
I have lived in this property for 2 years and have never had an account with them as I have been paying through Scottish Power and N Power. None of the letters are addressed to me, one says 'Occupier unknown', the other is to 'Trust Housing'.
When i spoke to them about it they said it will take up to 6 weeks to investigate. But they're still sending me letters of threat including late payment fines, court fees for a warrant etc etc if I do not pay in 10 days etc.. it is unbelievable.
I just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience and why BT lets it happen?!!

Contact energywatch - http://www.energywatch.org.uk/contact_us/index.asp and explain to them that you feel really intimidated by the threats of being taken to court.
BTW The issue has nothing to do with BT.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
