Cinch PCP Contract Clutch Issues

I’m hoping for some advice please on my situation on if I’ve any consumer rights on financial support

I’ve a PCP contract with Cinch for a Nissan Qashqai 2020 model. I’ve had this car since mid December on a 3 yr contract. The car has 42,299 miles.

When I got the car it came with a 3 month warranty so I’ve no warranty with Cinch or anyone else

A week or so ago the clutch went on it and having taken it to a Halfords I’ve been told after investigation clutch fluid was found to be leaking between gearbox & engine. Removed gearbox & found clutch slave cylinder/release bearing leaking contaminating the clutch plate. Requires 3-part clutch assembly including slave cylinder at a cost off £901.52 inc vat. Dual mass flywheel as excessive movement and wear at a cost off £1060.54 Inc vat

I’ve phoned Cinch who didn’t give much away other than e-mail over and we’ll look at it

From researching my issue is for a car of 4 yrs old with 42K miles, I wouldn’t expect the Slave Cylinder or Dual Mass Flywheel to need replacing. I personally feel there may have been a fundamental issue with the car rather than driver causing the issue.

Do you think there is any consumer rights that may be able to help me get financial support.

Did you report the fault before or after 6 months from the day you bought the car?  It makes a big difference to your rights.

Under 6 months, any fault with the car can be assumed to have been present when you bought the car, unless the seller can show that you broke it.

Over 6 months, it's up to you to get an independent report to show that the fault must have been present when you bought the car, and isn't wear and tear while you've had it.
