Dp1, sorry to read that your dg d was upset at the party, and your poor Dd as well, how sad.
Hope you enjoy your holiday Camelot, it'll be exciting.
Taff, I like those old style kitchen cabinets, my mother didn't have one but my friend's mother did. That was before the days of everything fitted of course. I don't suppose you can get them now, apart from old ones.
Snoozer my youngest grandson used to cry on being left at nursery, he was older than Esther, but used to cling and scream, I hated taking him because I would be coming out with tears in my eyes. He was fine once in, it was the actual leaving that did it.
Rosy if your hair goes brassy try a purple shampoo, it tones it down a bit.
Hope the Dr appt was ok Florence.
We've got the carpet cleaning man coming at 9am, so the house is upside down yet again. He is doing the 2 main downstairs rooms and the 3 piece suite. It's worth the upheaval though.
Glad you had a good holiday T A.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all and thanks to Scarlet for starting. Another fine day here so I've just hung out two loads of washing.
Some of the washing was baby clothes from yesterday's visit to DD's loft. We went through the next sized bag of clothes and I've just refreshed them all with a quick wash. DGS2 is a lot longer and chunkier than his older brother so is growing out of things quicker.
We have a tip visit booked for this morning so the broken printer can be disposed of, along with a few other bits. After that I have more ironing to do and a cake to make. I got some chicken out of the freezer for today but can't decide how to cook it. It will need to involve broccoli as I've plenty left over from yesterday.
Hope everyone's day goes well and you can stay cool.10 -
Morning folks. Thanks SCARLET - happy carpet cleaning day! The sun is out again and it already feels very warm.
I was going to have a quick trip into town but may stay put and keep cool instead. As yet I am undecided and dithering! I usually keep a hair colour in reserve but I seem to have slipped up this time and my hair is looking very faded with the sun, not to mention the skunk look white roots!
Have a nice day all and take it easy in the heat. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. NAN how are you and your dad? Take care all be safe xx

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarletribbons
Looks like another lovely day.
I was going to tidy the greenhouse yesterday but it was too hot, it's been a mess for so long another day or two won't make any difference.
Hospice bereavement café are starting a walking group, starts next week. I've said I'll go.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Morning all
Another lovely day in store the sun is up and quite warm , I have three people coming today so will see what they fancy doing they are generally quite good at coming up with ideas.
Not sure about dinner tonight DD is working late shift so just OH and I here might do some jacket spuds with various fillings nice and easy but tasty.
DD will walk the dogs later although hopefully no too later as it’s meant to get up to 25 deg so they may just have a quick one later on big pup especially gets overheated very easily.
Must do a shopping list for tomorrow.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet - and happy carpet cleaning day. I couldn't face the upheaval as my living room is too small to move things around with space to move!@WL - and a happy tip day to you.@DP1 - my youngest great-niece (in Australia) used to scream and cry whenever in the car, and wherever the destination. At nursery she cried until mum / dad / gran left and then broke out all the smiles.@SO - a walking group is such a lovely thing to do, it takes the pressure off about sharing. I really hope that you enjoy it.Yesterday was a mixed day for me, nothing drastically wrong just small things. As I put out my first load of washing, all bedding and knickers, the drizzle started. Bum! I still carried on with it. Then as I put out my second small load the drizzle got heavier. Bum bum!During my exercise class I noticed that my joggers were on inside out.
That didn't matter too much as they look the same apart from the side seam and label, luckily I was the only one to notice as the label was hidden by my top. Then the sun came out, the drizzle stopped and my washing dried. Happy ending.
The final annoyance was the clasp on my favourite (and only handbag) broke so I can't close it. Because of the design this makes the bag unusable. The happy ending was that the same bag was on sale at JL, less than half price, so I've ordered a new one which I'll collect tomorrow when in Glasgow.Today is dull with the promise of some warmth without actual sun shining. I have a couple of things to buy this morning and some food in the fridge dangerously near to UB date. I've opened a packet of coffee grounds which has a BB date of August 2022, it tastes perfectly fine.Hugs to all.10 -
Morning all, nice again. Thanks for starting Scarlet, yes I did buy some purple shampoo thanks & will try it before my hair gets too brassy, & wear a hat in the gardenSorry the party didn't go well for DGD @dp1 , such a shame.I'm going to pop to the market in a minute, can't use my bus pass yet but I want to do it early as my greengrocer man is under cover and it gets very hot ( metal roofDS1s hay fever was off the scale yesterday, poor thing.Right better get going, take care all .:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning allJust back from my walk in the park. I pass another park on the way (prefer to walk round the one with a lake) and surprise surprise there are lots of caravans on there. Every year they appear and our Council and us rate payers end up pyaing to clear up the awful mess that they leave behind. They've already been kicked off another area and it was a dead cert where they would appear next. You'd think the Council would make the gates a bit more foolproof! Off my soapbox nowNot alot to do today, want to hand wash some delicates and then contact my private pension people to find out when I'll receive my monthly one. Obviously it's not the same date as I used to receive my salary as that is today. Other than that it's in the garden with a good bookHave a good day all x8

Hello all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I’ve been AWOL but have had a lot going on including DS1’s wedding last Friday. Oh wow such an incredible day, the weather, venue, couple, guests were all amazing. I’ve been an emotional wreck since as it seems so ‘final’ but in a good way if that makes sense?
DDad flies home tomorrow and normality will resume. We have had the house photographed and EPC’d and are awaiting the details from the agent. All being well they will organise a number of viewings on a weekend day so we can leave them to it. We saw a house we liked a few weeks ago and it’s still for sale, but we can’t do much until we know if ours will go.
Lovely to hear of a walking group @silver-oldie – I hope you find it helpful x
Annoying about the bag @Gers but serendipity to find the same one on sale x
Sorry to hear about little DGD @dp1 – big hugs for her, such a trooper x
Enjoy your holiday and safe travels @camelot1001 x
Hope @nannywindow is doing okay x
Shout out to anyone I’ve missed and hope everyone is doing okay in this heat. No running home for me today as I would melt.
