my next door neighbours, who do shiftwork and need to sleep in the day, have covered their windows with aluminium foil, shiny side out (and on the outside, somehow) presumably to reflect the heat - I will ask how effective it is when I get the chance.
I keep a tupperware jug, with a lid, filled with water in the fridge. I also have a metal flask water bottle, so store in the fridge prior to filling, so I have chilled water to take out with me or to have by the bed for nocturnal sipping.
