2 years ago I had a letter from smartparking saying I had underpaid my parking time but I had not accounted for the time taken to get a space, park, download the app to pay etc so had paid for 120 mins and was there for 131. They referred my fine to DRP promptly even though I was trying to go through the appeals process but every letter they sent said I had to respond in 28 days but the letters were not reaching me until at least 2 weeks from they were dated. Same for DRP letters. I ignored these, following most online advice, but 2 years later, after hearing nothing from DRP, I have received a letter now for £170 saying it is a pre-legal action warning. Again the letter arrived 2 weeks after the date of the notice and the name on it isn’t my first name but it is my car. Any advice would be appreciated as to what to do as I don’t believe I am at fault and there was no indication that you would need to pre-empt the time needed to enter the car park etc.

Disregard the letter and file it away
Come back to this thread if you receive a formal letter of claim, an LBC, giving you 30 days notice and includes financial forms, or if you receive a proper court claim2 -
Same as this one and all the others like it:
