GCTT   has the next desk across from zzps, in offices in Addlestone Surrey, the same offices occupied by the infamous Gary Osner Mr ZZPS himself ..... known throughout the UK as the OSNER SCAM APPROVED by the very incompetent BPA
LlET'S TALK ABOUT THIS HAPLESS DUO
Debt collection charges attract VAT ... Are these two so called moguls of the debt recovery industry ??

How many people pay these scamming idiots ??
    where WATIS AVOIDED
We don't know, HMRIC DON'T KNOW
I would be asking  GCTTfor a VAT Incoice for their claim .... see what the OSNER does

ZZPS AND GCTT  are well overdue an investigation by HMRC

This is maybe about two different PCNs?
CEL don't tend to use ZZPS ... do they?

CEL either take cases to court themselves OR they farm them out to DCB group.

The differing amounts (£140 is very different from £170) also suggest these aren't the same PCN ref, perhaps. That's how it looks to me.

Show us both letters, with your data and your car VRM redacted.

The fact this is about parking charges from nearly 6 years ago means you might be able to tie them up with questions and time out the possibility of a court claim before the 6 years limitation period is up.

    EDIT:
Same advice as on the new thread by @Margaret1960
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They all have the same reference so I believe it's the same PCN. If they weren't working with ZZPS before they definitely seem to be now.

OK - read what I wrote in Margaret's linked thread, if yours is also close to the 6 years.

Timing of careful questions & requests will be key. I reckon you can both get these over the line.

I had received 3 letters from ZZZP which I ignored as advised in here. I have just received a letter from GCTT - warning notice of transfer.....  Which I see is just a sister company of ZZZP so still ignore but I only received 1st letter from ZZZP on 27th December 2024.  But the mentioned breach of overstayed parking is dated for 21/09/2022 (3years ago). Seriously it's taken this long to come to me & advise of fine.  Is there a time frame for Smart parking to contact me??

6 years for them to pursue you via the courts in England and Wales. Smart have so infrequently litigated that it's almost safe enough to say they don't. Ignore GCTT and ZZPS. Come back on your own thread (not this one as it 'belongs' to another poster) if you receive a Letter of Claim (from real solicitors) or a County Court Claim form.

I don't expect you will need to come back!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
