Hi,
Is there an easy and free way to remove a password from a PDF file and then sign it?
The file I have been sent has a password on it which I've also been given, but I need to remove/change it.
Thanks in advance

Unless the document is inside something like Adobe's Digital Signature package, then once you have opened the PDF using the password you are free to copy it like any other file.
You can then use one of the free online add-ons/extensions/services to password protect this new file.0 -
What PDF viewer do you use?
For mine I would go to properties, security and then change "security method" to none then save it.

OP isn't trying to hack into it as they already have the password, but remove/change the current password.

Is there anything stopping you viewing the PDF by entering the password and then 'printing' it to a new PDF, and then signing that?1

All I have to do is open pdf with password, go to "Protect" click on "Remove" select "yes" when conformation box appears, then save document.
