Car Insurance 2 Cars Same Insured

My wife is due to take delivery of a new car shortly & intends to keep her other car which is a 14 year old Mini.

Intention is to amend the existing Car Ins policy to the New Car as it has 10 years + NCD.

What is the best or cheapest way then to insure the 2nd car? Its value is less than £3k.

What NCD can I use on the 2nd car does it start with Zero?

You can only use NCB on one car at a time. So, yes, if you're going from one car to two, then you need to start a second NCB entitlement.

You may find some insurers offer an introductory bonus. But, tbh, it's not THAT big a deal. The fact you've got a clean record is more important.

So you are keeping it indefinitely? Will you become the main driver of it or do you have more vehicles at home?

2nd car will have 0 NCD but in many cases it won't make anywhere near the difference you might think it will. You could look at a "multi-car" policy which would give a further discount but not necessarily cheaper than insuring them independently.
