Can I get advice please. I turned right onto a main road from a side road . The roads were clear and the 2nd lane on the right that I was going into was also clear. However a driver decided to switch lanes and go into my lane at the same time as I was turning right causing me to scratch the side of their car and top of rear right hand wheel and my bumper needing replacing due to colliding on the left. Is it true it is going to be my fault? As insurance are saying I’m 100% liable. Thanks

You hit a car while entering a main road? Yep 100% liable.4

Your front bumper hit the rear wheel of a car which was driving along the main road you were turning onto.
And you think this is their fault?0

"The roads were clear", obviously not otherwise you would not have collided with the other vehicle.
 100% your fault.3

So where did the car you hit come from?surreyquays said:Can I get advice please. I turned right onto a main road from a side road . It's strange that the only place this ever happens is on insurance claim forms ...2

Happens on the phone calls to the FNOL lines too. Its a pity as I'd love a car with a cloaking device or teleportation capabilities but they just are never listed in AutoTrader.Car_54 said:

Any injuries or such?surreyquays said:Can I get advice please. I turned right onto a main road from a side road . As the vehicle turning out of the side road you will always be the majority to blame, there are a few cases where its a 80/20 split against the emerging driver but 80/20 or 100/0 makes exceptionally little difference without significant injuries and both go as a fault claim on your insurance.1

It's strange that the only place this ever happens is on insurance claim forms ...Is the "correct" statement more like-"I observed the other vehicle at a safe distance and speed, and had plenty of time to make my manoeuvre, I can only conclude that the other vehicle must have accelerated towards me as it collided......."I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science )2 )2

You would have thought so but I've had 100s of claims where the policyholder stated that they came out of no where and when pushed have only been able to say they saw no vehicles when approaching the mini roundabout etc but the TP went into their o/s front wing as they pulled onto the roundabout. Google StreetView wasnt a thing in my day but maps was and you could see it was a long straight road off all exitsfacade said:DullGreyGuy said:

Shouldnt't that be "... accelerated towards me at light speed as it collided..."?facade said:DullGreyGuy said:
