Top picture is a Hypericum (St John's Wort) - not sure which species, bottom picture is Mahonia. I wouldn't eat the former - think they are toxic. Allegedly one can eat Mahonia berries - personally I'd stick to blackcurrants!

Hypericum is considered poisonous.
However you can eat the berrries of the Mahonia, also known as Oregon grape.
Considered good for making syrup or hedgerow jelly etc,

I'd suggest they're good for cooking with - but not eating directly from the bush.
Supposed to be very astringent with seeds, so sugar/sweetener and sieving would make for supplemental source of vitamin c
