Evri outrage

High 5 all,

Just what the 'cough' is going on that an item takes residense for a week at the final mile depot?
Staffing can not be a problem, managers can decline to sign off holidays if too many people ask for the same period just as they can sign off extra hours when things are busy
In my real experience welfare office staff can demand that an individual applies for a job or have their payments frozen. Neither do I believe 'roadworks', in the same period I get Amazon-uk orders in three days without paying extra

Ask them directly. We wouldn't have a clue.
  • Who knows what happens with Evri HR processes at any depot.  If your deliveries are delayed you need to speak to the supplier, it’s their responsibility to get them to you on time.

They can decline holiday requests but they can't stop people actually being off ill (especially since long covid is ravaging society and most people seem more susceptible to coming down with all sorts of stuff) and the individual delivery drivers are self-employed so set their own hours.

People can be made to apply for jobs but it doesn't mean they'll get the jobs.

None of us have enough info to know potential answers, unless there are any members who work / have worked for Evri in a depot in which case they might have some insight but might not, depending on how things are where they work.

I understand evri delivery people are self employed.  So the workers decide when to take leave.

    High 5 everyone
While yes the drivers are self employed, if they are unavailable too much the depot manager might contact them to say that they are no longer required then what.

In general I ask questions like this to a forum because there is not a conflict of interest.

I'm truly sirprised that  long covid is ravaging society still, but I supose there are only so many times a van can brake down on a Monday every time.

As it happens, yes I did contact Evri H-O, they passed my communications to the relivant depot, we shall see.

Many thanks every one, have a good day now
