Property not registered on LR

I bought my place 6 months ago. Now I need to sell it. I checked the title deeds online and it's in previous owners name. Is this a fault of solicitors not registering it? Or LR being to slow?

I also think the solicitor disnt pay the sdlt. What can I do I'm meant to sell in 4 weeks0

Your solicitor can ask the Land Registry to expedite the registration of the house. You might want to ask @Land_Registry to check the current situation.
You might also want to chase your old solicitor to confirm that SDLT was paid? If not, use their complaint system. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
You can expedite if yourself.
I've just done this for another property I own
When you have proof of the sale attach that and make the application your self on the land registry website
I did that Thursday.
Yesterday they confirmed it was being expedited and it will be done within next 10 days

I'm also wondering the person I purchased the house from was deceased and it's their name on the deeds still. They had a executor acting on their behalf, maybe this was the issue and their solicitor needed to do something and provide further info...
I don't know where it's gone wrong, but have to sell in 4 weeks else I'm stuck.0 -

Expedition only works if the paperwork is all on order. If they are waiting on something still then it won't be registered until they have it.V2001 said:I'm also wondering the person I purchased the house from was deceased and it's their name on the deeds still. Have you spoken to the solicitor who did the sale on the property about whether they have everything in place for the registration to go through? If not, there is no point expediting it because it won't be done.0 -
No I have to wait till Monday to find out if all paperwork is in order... how would they know of they are waiting on something... I gotna feeling it might be something from the deceased side who I brought the property off...0

The solicitor will know either because LR has told them when they received the paperwork or because they just know what they need for registration to go through.V2001 said:No I have to wait till Monday to find out if all paperwork is in order... how would they know of they are waiting on something... Hopefully they have everything and if not, what they need is still possible to get 🤞0 -
If say the application was cancelled by LR because no one responded to any requisitions where does that leave me. What if thr other sides solicitor does not bother helping out now...0
